William moved to Heard Co., Georgia after the Civil War. He later moved to Hempstead Co., Arkansas and lived in the Bright Star community. He filed for a Confederate pension from Arkansas for service in the Confederate Army from Georgia on August 9, 1908. He was in the Georgia Infantry, company K, 30th Division.
