General Notes: Husband - David Sanford Clark

David's family moved to farm north of Wagner about 1880, from Lincoln Co., Tennessee.

The following article is David's obituary from the Greenville Messenger in Greenville, Hunt Co., Tx. The Obituary was dated Dec. 15, 1915. Copies can be obtained from Charlie Vines.

After a long period of suffering, which he bore with patience and sweetness, D. S. Clark, fell asleep last night at 9:15 o'clock, to the things of this world, to awake in the spiritual city. He died at the family home at 2704 West Bourland Street.
The funeral began this morning at 11 o'clock from the late home to MacWright cemetery, where Rev. W. E. Graham spoke words of comfort to the bereaved at the grave, where many friends had gathered to pay the last respects to a good and noble man.
D. S. Clark was 63 years of age, and leaves his widow and nine children: H. T. Clark, Mrs. W. S. Mattox, and Mrs. Bert Shipp, Greenville; Mrs. Joe Rogers, Mrs. V. J. VanCleave and Mrs. Orville Hall, Wagner: Mrs. B. F. Hale of Dickens, Texas; C. B. and Francis Clark of the United States Navy.
Mr. Clark and family moved to Hunt County some forty years ago and located near Wagner, where they continued to live until some three years ago when they move to Greenville.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church and had been for many years. He was always found faithful to the church he loved and served. He was held in the highest esteem by all who knew him.
The bereaved have the sympathy of many friends in this sorrow.

General Notes: Wife - Harriet 'Hattie' A. Kimes

I found Harriet's name in her daughter, Floy's, obituary (Greenville Herald Banner, June 30, 1979). On her tombstone, she is listed as Mrs. David S. Clark. C. Vines

Gene Kimes list Harriet's birth as Oct. 1857. The 1858 date I found was from her tombstone. C. Vines
